I do believe that digital technology has transformed how we understand writing. Writing digitally has enabled humans to become lazy through the use of short hand and abbreviations. We as a society have become more accustomed to writings such as brb, lol and omg. We look at writing in two different ways, either conversational which is over text/note taking or formal which pertains essays and letters. Technology can be used to compose either type. I also believe that the digital aspect lacks a personal connection. Without the personalization of handwriting every typed up piece of writing looks exactly the same. However, this could be a good thing. This could force readers to search for the personalization within the words of the writing. Overall, digital technology has both its pros and cons but I do believe it has helped society in the long run.
