Technology has impacted what we call everyday writing. Before computers, everyday writing was a telegraph or a postcard. Now we have to recognize youtube comments, chatrooms, and blogs as everyday writing as well. On a broader scope, with computers, the term "writing" is now encompassed by typing, texting, and posting. So yes, with the advent of technology, the idea of writing has changed drastically in the past decades, and I anticipate even more changes in the years to come.
