Digital
writing has clearly taken writing to an entirely different level. In the past,
writing was a lot more work- hand against paper- where now one can easily type
of the same content in half the time. I do believe digital writing has changed
the way we write because the addition of keyboards has taught us to become lazy
by replacing full words and phrases with slang, like “TTYL”, “BRB”, etc,
especially when referring to texting. I also think digital writing has taken
the meaning out of writing too and has made it much impersonal. Receiving a
hand-written letter is much more special than receiving the same message in an
email.
All
in all, while the content of writing may not have been swayed by the creation
of digital technology, however it has definitely influenced it. While digital
writing has made writing as a whole more convenient and widespread, it has
taken the “special” aspect out of it.
