Digital Writing

Digital technology has drastically impacted the way we view and see everyday writing in our modern day culture. The use of digital technology has become an everyday practice for us. All of our communication is now usually brought to via text, e-mail, or an online source. In reality we have almost completely thrown out the conventional use of handwriting. I think the reason for this because we have become lazy as a society. We are in an era where people like the concept of everything being “instant”. Although this isn’t necessarily a bad think it does have a vital impact on our culture.  Digital technology just makes it easier to get your thoughts and ideas down in a more efficient manner. With the revolution of writing we can be more precise with what we are trying to say. Things such as spell-check and fonts allow us to minimize our errors with spelling and readability. Imagine being in a society without the technology today. You would almost freak out! Just going a day or two without our phones can cause us to feel strange. It has become a practice that has changed our understanding of writing to a certain degree. As for me I am still in accordance to writing being anything that has a greater meaning. Which are things such as letters, legal documents, and even postcards. Usually anything that is handwriting can be considered everyday writing now since we rarely take the time out to craft personal hand writing things.
