Journal #4

I believe that the new age of technology has in many ways altered our way of writing. There are benefits to the new technology we have, such as faster communication, and more contact. But on the other hand, there are disadvantages to the new technology we have developed. The lack of face to face communication due to the use of phone calls and text messages have limited our ability to be fluid in our normal communication. People used to solely rely on communicating in person, and now we do not need to do that any longer. People don't give others the "time of day" because in our society everything is done at lightening speed. Everything must move at a fast pace or it isn't efficient enough. This is a reason why digital technology has really prevented us from slowing down and taking time from our day to communicate meaningfully.
